Basalt Fiber Geogrid is a geosynthetic material made from basalt rock fibers woven or knitted into a grid-like structure. It is used primarily in civil engineering and construction for soil reinforcement, stabilization, and asphalt overlay applications. It serves as a high-strength, durable tensile element within soil or asphalt structures.
 
FEATURE
High Tensile Strength: 
Offers very high tensile strength and stiffness (high modulus), which is crucial for absorbing tensile forces in the soil and distributing loads.
Chemical Resistance: 
Highly resistant to alkalis, acids, and salts, making it ideal for harsh environments like road bases, shorelines, and contaminated soils where fiberglass or steel may corrode.
Temperature Resistance: 
Can operate in a continuous temperature range from -260°C to 700°C (-436°F to 1292°F), making it non-flammable and suitable for high-temperature applications.
UV Resistance: 
Good resistance to ultraviolet radiation, especially with proper coating.
 
APPLICATION
Road and Pavement Reinforcement:
Base Stabilization-Placed within the base course of roads to reduce rutting, distribute loads over a wider area, and extend the pavement's service life. This allows for a reduction in the required thickness of the base layer, saving material costs.
Soil Reinforcement for Steep Slopes and Retaining Walls:
Used in Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls and steep slope construction to provide tensile strength to the soil mass, allowing for the creation of near-vertical slopes.
Embankment and Foundation Support over Soft Soils:
Constructs stable embankments over weak, compressible soils by creating a reinforced platform that distributes settlement evenly and prevents failure.
Landfill and Erosion Control:
Used in landfill liner systems for reinforcement and in erosion control mats for slope protection.
