Quartz fiber needle mat is a high-temperature resistant, interlocked non-woven insulation material made from quartz fibers without the need for binders, through mechanical needling. It can withstand continuous temperatures up to 1000° C, and due to its higher purity, it offers superior thermal stability and electrical insulation compared to high silica needle mats. While both are suitable for high-temperature insulation applications, the exceptional purity and structural integrity of quartz fiber needle mats may offer advantages in extreme conditions.
FEATURE
High Temperature Resistance:
Quartz fibers can withstand temperatures up to 1,050°C (1,922°F) or higher, depending on the specific formulation.
Low Thermal Conductivity:
Provides effective insulation, reducing heat transfer.
Lightweight:
Quartz fiber mats are lightweight, making them easy to handle and install.
Chemical Resistance:
Resistant to most acids, alkalis, and other corrosive chemicals.
Flexibility:
The needle mat structure allows for flexibility, making it suitable for wrapping or shaping around complex surfaces.
Non-Combustible:
Quartz fibers are inherently fire-resistant, making them ideal for fire protection applications.
APPLICATION
Thermal Insulation:
Used in furnaces, kilns, and other high-temperature equipment.
Fire Protection:
Acts as a fire barrier in construction, aerospace, and automotive industries.
Gaskets and Seals:
Used in high-temperature environments where traditional materials would fail.
Industrial Insulation:
Protects pipes, boilers, and other equipment from heat loss or damage.
Aerospace:
Used in thermal protection systems for spacecraft and aircraft.
